SIBERIAN (NEVA MASQUERADE) CAT, ITS CHARACTERISTICS AND DESCRIPTION:
A Masquerade cat from the city on the Neva river is our native cat - Siberian, but "a blue-eyed blonde". The correct name: "a Siberian color-point". Masquerade cats have typical features of Siberians.
Neva Masquerade breed is recognized as a color in the Siberian breed by such felinological systems as WCF, TICA, CFA, CFF. As a separate breed, it is considered by IFA. As a Siberian cat with unrecognized color, it is seen by FIFe.
This breed originated in St. Petersburg. Olga Sergeevna Mironova is considered an author. A tremendous amount of work has been done to make a Siberian with blue eyes. After all, the Siberian cats' dominant colors are red and black. How many efforts did it cost to get a dominant white, we can only guess. Nevertheless, everything worked out in the end and the result exceeded expectations. And now it is strictly forbidden to cross Neva Masquerades with other breeds.
GENERAL FEATURES:
Siberian Neva Masquerade cats are strong, fairly large, very sturdy animals of medium to large size. Males weigh between 7 and 10 kg. Females weigh up to 6 kg. Females are much smaller in appearance than males.
The body is powerful, heavy and well-proportioned, stands on strong solid legs. Heavy, strong bones with well-developed muscles. The body length is medium with a broad rib cage. A strong, not high neck as well.
Paws are strong and large. They must have tufts of wool between the toes.
A head resembles a large, wide trapezoid in shape, proportional to the body with a rounded low forehead. The forehead has a smooth transition to the bridge of the nose. A nose is average-sized. Cheeks are full, jaws are well-developed, a chin is strong and not protruding.
Ears are medium-sized, widely set, slightly sloping forward and rounded at the tips with tassels or brushes.
Eyes are very intelligent and beautiful. They are large, slightly rounded, widely set. The color is blue: rich and uniform. And the color range can vary from light blue to dark blue. For these magnificent eyes, many people fall in love with masquerade cats at first sight.
А tail is medium length in an overall proportion. It is wide at the base, rounded at the tip.
Neva Masquerades is a semi-long-haired breed of cat. A coat is stiff, shiny, and water-repellent with a double undercoat. By winter, representatives of this breed grow a warm, beautiful, dense collar, reminiscent of a jabot and beautiful pants. A tail also becomes downy.

CHARACTER TRAITS OF SIBERIAN (NEVA MASQUERADE) CATS:
A) A Masquerade cat gets strongly accustomed to its owners and to the whole family. It should not be left alone for a long time, because it can get sad and even get stressed.
B) Home for a Neva Masquerade cat is not as important as a beloved owner, so you it is possible to travel together. However, in no case do not abandon it in a hotel room, but take it with you until the kitty gets used to the new environment. Representatives of the Neva Masquerade breed can walk on a special leash for cats and sometimes go where you lead them, not where they want to go.
C) Neva Masquerades are very affectionate, good-natured and sensitive, but proud and vulnerable. It is not recommended to scold and punish them. Especially if they, after a while, cannot understand why.
D) These cats have a gentle and pleasant timbre of a voice. They do not meow, but as if they chortle. Even if there is a need, they will not shout loudly, it will only be a quiet pur-mur-mur. Nevertheless, cats of this breed always do not mind quietly talk to the household.
E) If you are in a bad mood and are busy working, a Neva Masquerade cat will feel it and will not bother you. It will quietly step aside and wait for your mood to improve.
F) Neva Masquerades are very stubborn and persistent. They almost always get what they want. They are able to explain what they want at the moment with looks and actions exactly.
G) Masquerade cats are not resentful and not vindictive. They love affection, attention and they remember the good. They are intelligent and easily trainable. These cats can execute commands as long as you work with your pet and educate it properly.
