A) A cat's character, disposition, affection, behavior and intelligence are hereditary traits and depend largely on the breed. If the cat's ancestors were affectionate and kind, the kittens are likely to resemble them.
Almost in all Internet rankings a Siberian cat and its blond blue-eyed copy - Neva Masquerade cat occupy leading positions in affection, loveability and kindness. Also in the top 10 on these criteria are usually included such breeds as Ragdoll, Maine Coon, Russian Blue, Burmese, as well as Sphynxes, British, Persians and Scottish....
However, you should realize that if you take a kind, affectionate and loving cat, it may suffer from lack of attention if you are away from home for a long time. It may become sad if you refuse to pet him. It will also follow you around like a dog and sleep on your clothes or on you.
B) If you are going to shelter a mongrel cat, you will not understand his nature at first glance. After all, many sorts of different breeds have mixed up in this animal - from calm to very aggressive. At first, the kitten is likely to behave quietly, but when you get used to it – your new friend will probably surprise you a lot.
In life there are stories when kittens taken from the street grow up loving, intelligent and gentle, but it's like a lottery - some are lucky, and some are not.
C) Whoever claims that the character is given at birth and barely change, we can say from personal experience that the attitude of the owner has a tremendous influence on the behavior of a pet.
If you love and take care of your cat, and it understands this, its attitude to you will be kind and grateful, no matter what sort of a cat breed it is.
If you, on the contrary, offend the cat, the most good-natured animal will turn into a tiger and start scratching and biting in order to protect itself.
The article "Education" on our website will tell you about how to bring up a kitten.
A one famous person, Gary Smith, said: "Cats choose you, you never own them". This is partly true, but not always:
A) If a kitten chooses you, this is love at first sight. It will tag along you, trying to get your attention, even if you ignore him.
B) If a kitten lies down to rest near you, this means a 100% chance that it has made its choice.
C) When a kitten doesn't want to get close to you and runs away, this doesn't mean it doesn’t belong you. The baby is just afraid of strangers – this is normal. This fact speaks only about the kitten’s innate caution, which is very good for life.
D) In order to understand exactly whether a kitty is designed for you or not, you need to stay together with it for a while and observe. At first, do not impose on the kitten to communicate, just let it take the first step towards to your interaction. If the kitten is interested in you and overcomes its fear, this pet is yours without a doubt.
E) Let’s imagine the situation: you see many kittens in front of you (a whole litter), they are busy with themselves, playing, are not interested in you at the moment... Then try to feel on your own, which cat from the litter stands out particularly. It may not be appearance, but behavior. The first feeling you experience is the most correct. A famous Soviet lexicographer Sergey Ozhegov writes in his dictionary: "Intuition is a flair, subtle understanding, penetration into the very essence..." This ability is given to people for a reason and often does not fail.
The loving behavior of cats depends largely on breed, temperament, emotionality, sociability and the atmosphere in the house.
But there are common signs of loving kitty behavior:
A) The surest indicator of feline affection is when a kitty is following you everywhere. Wherever you go (to the bathroom or toilet), a loving kitty will always follow you. It'll also meet you at the door when you get home from work.
B) A pet shows affection when it is rubbing his muzzle against yours as though it is kissing you. This is its way of showing that you belong to him, as if it is marking you.
C) If your cat starts purring in your arms, it means that it is relaxed and happy.
D) Cats also literally know how to hug - with two paws around the neck. If your cat does this, it adores you.
E) Cats bring mice to their favorite owners if they catch them. They may drag their best toys to your bed.
F) Another manifestations of love are sleeping on the clothes of the owner, any tactile contact, hands and face licking, jealousy, gentle non-painful biting, paws stomping.
"Loving cats do not come into our lives by chance. They bring warmth and joy with them, because they reciprocate our feelings and tenderly respond to them." (Good cat)
